support moment

Josh Rubinstein

Josh was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia at age 15, and CPWLF was there to support Josh and his family from the beginning.

The CPWLF supported Josh and our entire family in many ways. Casey came to Josh’s hospital at a critical time during treatment. Josh’s spirits were low, and he was very sick. Casey walked into his room, lacrosse stick in hand. Josh immediately perked up and smiled for the first time in weeks. The visit had an immediate effect on Josh. He was a lacrosse player again and not a cancer patient. Casey spent quality time with Josh and our family. Later that evening, Casey hosted a CPWLF game in Josh’s honor at Josh’s home field. Several hundred lacrosse players, of all ages, participated in Speed Lacrosse, playing and raising funds for the CPWLF. It was a terrific event for Josh, our family and the entire lacrosse community.

The CPWLF also arranged for Josh to meet the University of Maryland lacrosse team to include Head Coach John Tillman. Josh and our family were invited to a UM lacrosse game.  It was a wonderful experience. Josh was given the game ball following a Maryland win.

Casey and the CPWLF have maintained contact with Josh and our family as we travel this road to recovery. I can never repay Casey for his support and friendship. The CPWLF is a wonderful foundation that is so worthy of support and funding. I know Josh and our family will continue to support CPWLF in any way we can. RUBISTRONG!
