Luca, 11, suffered life-threatening brain trauma and was put into a two-week coma in order to recover. Fighting back with a contagious spirit, Luca has recovered and played lacrosse for the first time since the accident at a CPWLF event. Luca was honored at the 2016 World Lacrosse Beach Festival and had the opportunity to play lacrosse alongside his parents.
Casey, through your hard work and determination, you have achieved great success at every level on the lacrosse field. You have deservedly attained the acronym of the “GOAT” (greatest of all time) for your accomplishments. What people need to know about you is that your on-field accomplishments pale in comparison with your acts of service and the love you give to those in need when you are off the field. Thank you for showing up to Tampa General Hospital and surprising our son Luca and making him feel special. Thank you for your continued support and friendship with Luca and our entire family since that day.
