Be that Person

by Sue Powell

The Casey Powell World Lacrosse Foundation was formed to support sick and severely injured lacrosse players, and it has a new staff member. It’s me, Sue Powell, and because of that my energy level is much higher than normal.

I had always wanted to be that person that I needed years ago when I was going through some difficult times and felt alone. Well this is my chance.

I once read and never forgot an article that I stumbled onto. It went something like this. Understanding firsthand how a charitable gift impacts the lives of others will also change the lives of those who give and those who receive. That understanding can only come about when you actually do it. I believe this to be so true. That is why this new job will be life-changing for all of us.

Casey’s foundation mission statement, Share, Support and Inspire, hold all the answers to what would make the world a better place. No three words hold as much power.

SUE’S CIRCLE will work with parents of CPWLF players to help each other keep up their spirits in a time of great stress. In giving our support, we share in bearing the weight to keep someone from falling.

I would like to call on each of you to get off the bench and do something that will change not just your life for the better  but the life of someone in need. Wouldn’t that be great? You know what they say, “even a drop of rain makes the ocean rise.”  I hope that I will hear from you.
