Second Annual Purses for a Purse

The concept of a purse has been around for thousands of years and they have evolved over time in conjunction with fashion and the necessity to carry more personal items. In today’s world often your purse screams out a message. Designers from all over the country have put worth handbags in every size , shape , and color imaginable, making them very popular and more sought after than ever before.

The second “Purses for a Purpose “ was hosted just this past week here in Syracuse. The CPWLF put out a request for donations of new or slightly used designer purses, to be sold at the live auction benefiting the foundation. We were not let down. Purses, more than 60, started coming in both locally and as far away as Arizona and Canada.

On December 11, our auctioneer, Mike Powell opened the bidding at King of Clubs, the venue, also donated by friend of the foundation, John Hanus, who even served delicious hot pizza to all. The guys and gals in attendance did not hold back, and the bid paddles were raised all for the cause. Casey MC ‘d the event and filled the interested crowd in on the history and mission of the foundation, he also introduce our honored person of the night, Julie Boglione . Julie founded Breaking Barriers, an adapted lacrosse program based out of Rochester, making it possible for all to play and enjoy the medicine game. Casey was successful in letting Julie know that as she fights her diagnoses of breast cancer, she has the support of all of us at the CPWLF. The event included a silent auction, raffles and a ten dollar wallet table. By nights end and after many compliments on the fun filled event, a total of $2643.00 had been raised. A huge thank you to all who made our auction such a big success.
Plans are already being made for the next
