Legendary Heart 2019

The inaugural CPWLF Legendary Heart benefit was held at Joe’s on Weed in Chicago on Saturday, September 21st and served as the official launch of our foundation in our new hometown of Chicago.  The lacrosse community came out to help us honor the lacrosse players and families who are supported by CPWLF.  Our own legendary heart, Casey Powell, led the evening which included guest speakers: Coach Kelly Amonte Hiller of Northwestern women’s lacrosse; Coach Kevin Corrigan of ND men’s lacrosse; and the incomparable legend, Coach Roy Simmons, Jr. of Syracuse men’s lacrosse.

CPWLF awarded the first annual Josh Rubinstein scholarship to the Andrews family in support of Kim Andrews, a lacrosse mom who is battling breast cancer.  Josh was on stage to present the award with Coach Amonte Hiller.  The first Annual Danny Mighty McManus Spirit Award was presented to Danny’s older brother, Colin Maddog McManus, who donated his bone marrow to Danny four times.  Coach Corrigan presented the award to Colin, a huge ND fan.

More than $35,000 was raised in ticket sales, silent auctions and raffle ticket and merchandise sales.  A huge win for the lacrosse community in Chicago and a tremendous assist in creating more CPWLF support moments!
